We Won !!!!!
G?day Everyone , we won !!!
After ten years of travelling to Tamworth for the festival and sixteen years together , Simply Bushed has received terrific recognition by way of being voted Best Group in front of the wonderful McClymonts ,our mates Jonahs Road , jetty Road ( mmmmm.... ) and another reasonably hairy group of feaux bikers whos name will not be mentioned ( Chuckle , Chuckle )
If that is not excitement enough , Pauls song Cangai Bridge was also voted best Bush Ballad in front of the great Aussie of the year Mr Kernaghan !!
The Thing is that we would not have gone anywhere even close to these accolades if not for the votes of you wonderful people , so THANKS FOR YOUR VOTE !!we are absolutely stoked and a bit gobsmacked with this success and recognition.
On Sunday of the festival with almost no throats left we took to the stage at wests to beat all comers in the Northern Daily leader battle of the bands !!! Not a bad year !!
The week started beautifully with the honour of appearing in front of about 20,000 of our closest friends !! As a muso , you dream of playing at concerts of this size . It turned out to be a great opportunity as many people were curious enough from our brief appearance to come to our gigs at Joe Maguires Pub and the Services Club . we need to thank a certain Kevin Anderson for that opportunity . Whilst at that gig we got to hob-nob with some Australian legends including Graeme Connors and Jon English ( What a filthy name dropper I am )
The week was unbelievable with every one of our gigs being a packed house . We also had the opportunity to play on the council rooftop stage where we were joined by Matt Scullion for the world record attempt at the most guitarists playing Smoke on the Water , ( A great old bush tune !!)something we hope to be involved with next year , so grab a guitar and start praccyin up for it !!!
During the festival this year , we were joined on stage by a heap of great musos including , Glenn Skarrat, Duncan Toombs, Mick Abrey from Ruckus and Skye Mcmanus from the Blowies and had a bloody ball with each of them . Bob Gammage , Painter extrordanaire put us on the canvas twice , with the help of the crowd and a couple of strokes from yours truely !! One of the paintings will be up at Joes next year the other will reside in the lounge room of those legend Ruckies , Mick and Meres !!
We also made friends with Monica and Mick and the fine folks from Norco "Chill" and shared their float , and we won some stuff in that as well and had a great time with all of the norco girls ( and Mick !!)
We have another festival coming up and will see our victorian mates at the Kinross Muster in a couple of weeks . The gig list is a bit lean at the moment but we are working on new songs for a new CD to be recorded this year !!!
Anyway My little bro , Wazza ( most of you know Wazza now , he is the sixth member !!) has just turned up for a cuppa , so I will be off now and we want to thank everyone for coming to the gigs and giving us so much support !!

2008 !! Whats Been and Whats Comin'
Its been a while since we have pumped out an update , so we have a heap of news to tell you !!
I think I will break it down a bit or else it could become one endless rant !!
New Songs For Tamworth !!
whilst I have been negligent in the updating of certain websites , I have at least pumped out a few new tunes . One is called I'll See Ya , and is about old mates . Another is the Great Australian Love song , the love song that every aussie bloke would love to write for his girl !! There is also a new Bushie Protest Song about mongrels trying to change a great nation ..... OUR Nation !!
New Member of the Family .
Our Bass Player Richie and his lovely wife ,Jen have had a beautiful baby girl , so we welcome Elsie to the world . Due to Richies expanding family and his growing work committments , he will be taking a back up roll in the band
Speaking Of Which ....
We have Charlie Lee , our old Bass player doing the Job at the moment ( and Brilliantly we might add!! ) with a bit of help from Randoes , who will be doing the Tamworth festival with us . Thats right , you thought we booted him , WE thought we booted him , but he is back for Tamworth and we took two strings off him ~!! He is hard man to boot .
Film Clip Update
Thanks To CMC for thew great support they have given us with Cangi Bridge and a HUGE thanks to all those who requested us and our clip . The new clip for Dads Cruiser is finished and will be ready for Tamworth we will ( hopefullly ) have copies of both clips during the festival . We will let you know when it is available for CMC and would really appreciate your requests one more time !!
Peoples Choice Awards !!
We are thrilled to be in the finals for the Peoples Choice awards in Tamworth . We are nominated in four Categories ans a direct result of your votes , so thanks for your support , we are in with some great names and are stoked to be there !!

we are furiously working on new songs and new arrangements and want to try out a few things on you for the festival we are going to do a new CD hopefully this year but are not going to rush it and are hoping to get the help of a producer . We are also releasing at least one more clip from Beat'n Round the Bush , not sure which one yet , but we will keep you posted on that front . We are also aiming to get into a few more festivals this year starting with Kinross !!
Kinross Country Muster
look out Victoria here we come , we are doing two spots at the Kinross Country
Muster in Victoria in February this year . We are stoked and are looking forward to lifting the roof... Bushed Style !!!

We are on the CMC Playlist !!!
What a week , first the great news about One stop entertainment taking on our CD for national distribution then we get the news about the main stage gig at the Muster ,to top it off , we have been included on the CMC Playlist . On Saturday night at 9.56 p.m. we were sown on there for the first time . we are thankful to CMC for giving us a go .
WE NEED YOUR HELP !!!
In order to get the clip onto a high rotation we need your requests , this is dead easy even for a techno dummy like me all you need to to do is go to the CMC website and click on the cangi bridge bit . Piece of cake and you would have our eternal gratitude !!!

Whats Going On ??? I'll Tell ya Whats going on !!
G?day Folks its been a little while since we whacked some new news up here for you , but that doesn?t mean we?ve been bludging , o contrary !! we have been busy little bushies . I will give you a few of the highlights :
* Firstly , as our regular bushies would know ,We proudly proclaimed last years Muster as the best gig ever , well apparently they thought we went OK also because , Marylou , And all the legends that organise The best party in Australia have promoted us to the main stage and we are STOKED !!! We will be opening up the main stage on Friday night !!
* We are also very excited to be appearing at Sydneys premier Country Music Festival , at Galson . It will be our first appearance at the Galston Festival
* Our film clip is ready you can all watch it on Itube . We are in the midst of sending it off to CMC at the moment and are hopeful of getting a Guernsey on there as well . Now as you all know I am a techno Idiot but if you look up you tube then enter cangi bridge I am pretty sure it will come up . I just did that and it worked . Our new Techno dude will have a link directly on here for you to click on after the site rebuild .NOW SERIOUSLY , for all you muso?s , if you want a video clip down there is a great bloke on the central coast called DUNCAN TOOMBS , he is a champion and a very talented bloke ( and reasonably priced for all you indies )who has produced exactly what we asked for only HEAPS better . If you want his details let me know and I will get them to you .... let us know what you think !!
* Bloody Hell, has any one noticed that this is almost becoming a news letter !!!
* We have tentatively booked in our follow up clip with a company in Tamworth called Attitude productions . We will have that ready for our next single release which will be in September this year !!

* We have a heap of new songs as I am in a song writing frenzy at the moment . I have written the Great Australian Love song , and I think most of you will be reduced to tears ..... of one type or another , a catchy little song called Cop It on the chin , and new song about a man and his dog ( that would be a little bit about me and my dog , Tassie!!) and I am about halfway through a song for our legend Volunteers workers in Australia like the SES and the RFS and even our fireys , cops and Ambos all who really come together when aussies are in trouble . The song is called Angels in Overalls and I am writing it with my wife Lliss , who has never written a song before .
* We found ourselves a web dude and our site will be having a bit of a face lift so call in soon . Onya Nick !!
* We received a free set of steak knives !!
We would like to wish our mate Dave (Dickie!! ) a happy 40th . we played at his party and had a

Congrats to our mates Ruckus getting thier noggins on Channel 10 the other week !!

Its Only Taken Three Years !!
Folks I am a proud techno idiot today as after three years of having this website I have finally worked out how to update our photo gallery and so I have gone beserk with it . If you have pics with the band and you that you would like up on our site email them to me and I will try should be able to whack them up for you .
